Why nanny referrals should be backed by a background check!

  How many times has a recommendation algorithm randomly popped up a feed about an infant being brutally mistreated by someone in-charge? More often than not, by a sweet-looking nanny in her teens or a middle-aged caretaker referred by a close friend or relative.  In April 2021, a nanny - hired upon referral from an NGO in Mumbai - startled the residents of an apartment in Ahmedabad, after attempting to sell the 11-month old infant she was supposed to protect.
